QRICKETERS AND RUNNERS. ; BASIN RESERVE FIXTURES. A conference was held yesterday be* tween Messrs. M. Luckie and E. B.Vanco, representing the Wellington Cricket Association, and Messrs. Gbftey, Bridge, and Guise, delegates from tha Wellington Centre of the New ZealandAmateur Athletic Association, regarding dates on which the Basin Keserva might be made available for the Athi letic Association. It was resolved that the latter body ba allowed £he use of the reserve on tho 29th' November for its provincial championship meeting; also that two other Saturdays be provisionally allotted, with an understanding that- if the WheatleyDavis visit to Wellington does nob eventuate only one of the two Saturdays will be taken by lha athletic body., These arrangements are subject to cou* firraation by the City Council. In, the course of the discussions ba* tween the two sets of delegates, the ad<* visableness of meeting annually, to mv« tually fix the respective programmes, and so avoid clashings of important fixtures, was favourably received. Tha delegates will endeavour to have a, definite arrangement made in time toe next season. EVENING SPORTS MEETING". .' ' The * first' evening "sports meeting "dt tha season was held at the Basin Reserve yesterday by the Civil Service Athletic Club.
