TRAINED NURSES' ASSOCIATION
The first meeting of the Central Council of the Now Zealand Trained Nurses' Association was opened yesterday in the Nurses' Club, Willis-street, and concluded to-day. In addition to local members, the following visiting delegates wer.o present:— Mrs. Kidd and Mibs L. Jones (Auckland), Mrs. Irving, Miss Turner, and Miss Beck (Chnstehurch), Mis.* Jeffreys,, and Dr. Will (Dunedin). The rules which are to govern the newlj -formed association were freely discussed, and various matters on the UL'enda paper were dealt with. Our lady contributor writes: — The visiting members of the Council of the Nurses' Association are mingling their work with considerable diversion. Yesterday, Miss Payne, the matron of the Wellington hospital, gave a very pleasant tea-party in their honour. The grounds of the .'Hospital just now hio gay with flowers, masses of pentstemons of rich tints bordering the curving drive. Miss Payne's pretty sitting-room was decorated with sweet roses, gracefully arranged. The hostess wor& her picturesque white uniform and cap, and Nurse Broad, who helped her, was also in her becoming nurse' 3 dress, while Mrs. Perkins wore a pretty frock of eld rose silk. Dr. Valintine, Dr. Will, and Dr. Young were among the guests. This afternoon, Miss Hester Maclean entertains the visitors to tea at the kiosk, in the evening the annual dinner place, and on Friday, visitors and "resiI dent mi-mbers go out to Heretaunga, where they urn to be welcomed by Mrs. William Young.
