RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The proceedings at TUccarton to-doy were exceedingly interesting. The tracks were very fast. Husbandman covered a mile and a half in 2min 38 3-ssec. Penates galloped six furlongs, doing the labt five in lmin 3 l-ssec. Elysian beat Firfet Gun over a mile, which took lmin 44sec. Prim defeated Bollin by eight lengths in a mile and a half gallop, which took 2min 45 2-ssec. Lady Lucy and Sir Prize went a mile and a quarter in 2min 9 3-ssec. Full Sail was better than Sharpshooter over a mile, done in lmin 44sec. Downfall, Sandhtream and Master Soull'went a mile and a half oil the grass in 2min 39 2-ssec, JSandstream having the best of the gallop all through. Nyland beat Daybeam in a six-fiirlong spin in lmin 17sec. Tikitere went a mile and a half in 2min 38 J.-s?ee; it was a pleasing effort. Bobrikoff covered a mile and a quarter in 2min 6 4-ssec — a record for the track. Boutade was better than Grand Slam over a mile and a quarter. Muskerry cleared away from Merrie Zealand and Lawn Ross over the same distance. Passion galloped six furlongs in lmin 14 3-ssec. Among the two-year-olds the best'gallops were done by Formby, Formedon, Kohinoor, and Madam Madcap. A large number of others v/ers exercised. ELLERSLIE NOTES. . AUCKLAND, This Day. Heavy rain fell during the night and throughout the morning, and training operations were performed under very unfavourable circumstances. Very little work of importance was registered. All the work was done on the sand, except a few gallops by two-year-olds on the course proper. Sir Ayetal did three furlongs in 40sec, Advocate six furlongs in lmin 22sec, Hyperion beat Rarata by three lengths over 7 furlongs in Imin 35 3-ssec, Dr. Shimose and Rohepotae covered tho same distance in lmin 37sec, I finishing together. Speclie easily held Bully once round, in 2min 7sec. After breakfast, the rain eaad. Sanla Rosa and Waimangu went seven furjengs in lmin 36bec ; Coronetted, Sedition, and delegate were in that order at the end of a . similar journey, run irw lmin 36 3-ssec ; Tamainnpo was better than Tattoo over the i-ame ground, in .lmin 35 4-ssec ; Dogger Bank finished in front of Turbine over 5 furlongs in lmin Bsec ; Aristocrat went a furlong further in lmin 26 4-ssec. On the course proper, Apellow and Ash by, together, did 3 furlongs in 41 2-ssec ; Vivace and Echo occupied the same lime over the same journey ; Doughboy registered 40 3-ssec for Ihe same distance. Goldfinder spurted two furlongs twice at intervals, the first ,time in 29 4-ssec and the second in 26 2-s«?c. QuinliMan arrived this morning with Bally Shannon, Maori King, and Morning Post.
