The United Friendly Societies Council meeting last night passed a motion supporting the action of the Wellington Council in sending a deputation to fche tramway authorities to point o\it the injustice being done to Friendly Society members in their employ by count : ing their 6ick benefits as part of their wages when off duty ; also calling the council's attention to the advisability of endeavouring to have a clause introduced in the proposed new Friendly Societies lAct to deal with the whole matter of sick benefits.
