[BX TELEGRAPH — SPECIAL TO THE POST.] OTAKI, This Day. A painlul sensation was caused at Te Horo yesterday, when a man named Joseph King, a platelayer, and a recent arrival from Shannon, where his wife and family of three small children reside, suddenly expired. After a fair morning meal, deceased left his hut, complaining to his mate of pains. He had only traversed a few yards, when he was seen to fall. Help was immediately at hand, and artificial respiration tried, but without result. Constable Satherley was communicated with, and after viewing the body ordered its removal to the Railway Hotel, Otaki, where an inquest was held in the afternoon. Evidence was given by Ellen King (deceased's wife), Patrick Foley, Laurence Lawson, Laurie Kendrick, Dr. Huthwaite, and Constable Satherley. The Coroner (Mr. W. C. Nation) brought in a verdict of death from heart failure. The Otaki Road Board has decided to request the Horowhenua County Council to bring elderberries' in as noxious weeds. The tender of Geo. Hanlon for metalling Bell, Kirk and Lemon streets was accepted, provided the loan was available.
