NAPIER, This Day. Addressing the Grand Jury at the opening of the Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Cooper congratulated the district on the marked absence of serious crime, the calendar presented comprising only three cases — two of forgery and one against a Maori of misconduct. John Smith pleaded guilty to forgery, and was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment. True bills were returned in all the cases.
