NEW HEBRIDES. FRENCH SCHOONER DRIFTS

ASHORE. THE CREW KILLED. SYDNEY, 6th September. A French steamer brings a report of another massacre in the New Hebrides. The French trading schooner Guadalite drifted ashore in Espiegle Bay, Mollicollo, and hordes of savages surrounded and massacred the crew, consisting of the captain (a Frenchman) and four or five natives., and then looted the schooner. Details are meagre, and it is thought possible that some members of the crew may have escaped to the bush.
