A GARRISON RIFLE MEETING.
PROPOSED AMALGAMATION OF ASSOCIATIONS.
At the annual meeting of the Karori Rifle Club last night, it was unanimously decided that the time had arrived when one annual local meeting should be held, in place of the two now run by the Garrison Rifle Association and the Wellington District Rifle Cluo Association respectively. Members expressed the opinion, that by holding one Garrison Rifle meeting, which would of course include the clubs, it easily would be possible to make such meeting the largest local one in the Dominion. The secretary was instructed to write at once to the secretary of the Wellington District Rifle Club* Association, asking him to call a meeting at an early date, to deal with the matter. It was further decided that as the club's present champion, Rifleman Halliday, would be in Australia representing New Zealand until the end of October, the first match for the club championship would not be fired until the first wdek in November ; 2nd October was fixed as the club's opening day. The vice-president's match, introduced for the first time last season, will again find a place on the programme. A trophy, presented by the club, will be competed for by those gentlemen at Trentham on the opening day, 2nd October, when the necessary rifleo and ammunition will be provided on the range by tho club. A waa passed on to the committee to place on this year's programme one series of matches under service conditions.
