OVERWORKED CHILDREN.

[BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, This Day.

The head master of a suburban school reported to his committee la.st night: — "Several boys who did good work in the fourth standard I found doing poor work in the fifth standard. On making enquiries, I lind eight boys working ten and ten and a half hours daily. Some get up at 3.30 o'clock to work on milk carts. These children are quite listless in school, and it is certainly not fair to hold teachers responsible for the educational advancement of these children."
