GUESTS OF THE NATION.

©ELBKATES TO DEFENCE CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 21st July. The Colonial Office is arranging to treat the Defence 'Conference delegates as the guests of the nation, as were the delegates to the Imperial Conference in 1907. g The Australians will probably stay at tne Hotel Cecil. The conference is to meet on 28th July. No definite programme has been arranged, but the 'War Office and Admiralty will prepare a list of subjects on which they desire an exchange of views. The proceedings, it is understood, will not be open to the press ; it is probable, however, that an official report of the discussions will be furnished by the authorities.
