AMERICAN TARIFF BILL.
DUTIES INCREASED. LARGE ADDITIONAL REVENUE EXPECTED. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. WASHINGTON, 12th July. The Tarifi Bill has been referred to a conference of committees of both Houses. As the Bill left the Senate it makes no alteration in the Dingley tariff as far as 75 per cent, of the imports are concerned. It, however, increases the duty on 15 per cent, of the imports, and reduces it on 10 per cent. Some of the changes, it is estimated, on the one .hand, will augment the revenue (compared with the previous duties) by £13,000,000, while other changes, on the other hand, will effect a diminution estimated at £862,000. i ESTDIATE OP THE TIMES.
