Beuter's agent at Constantinople reports that the Turkish authorities are attempting to punish only Christians in connection with the recent massacres at Adana, in Asia Minor. The special commission from Constantinople is forcing the Armenians to leave the refugee camps, though no protection is offered to them. THE DEPOSED SULTAN. UNDER STRICT SURVEILLANCE. (Received May 19, 9.15 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, 18th May. The deposed Sultan, Abdul Hamid, who is under guard at Salonika, is not allowed to have writing paper or any means of communication with the people outside. Nobody is allowed within fifty yards ! of Abdul's house.
