BIG BLAZE AT MARTON.
SEVERAL PREMISES BURNED. STRONG WIND BLOWING. MARTON, This Day. A fire at Marton last night destroyed Harris and Ladley's solicitors' office, the office of Harris and Son, land agents, the Salvation Army barracks, E. Gibbons's cordial factory, and large stables owned by Brice, Broad, and Co. The fire started in Harris and Ladley's office, and, aided by a strong wind, quickly spread to adjoining premises. The brigade did splendid work, and succeeded in saving many buildings. The insurances are :—: — Gibbons's cordial factory, £350 on the building and stock in the Alliance office, and £100 on new machinery in the Liverpool, London, and Globe. Harris and Ladley had £75 on the contents of their premises in the Royal office. Harris and Son, £50 on a job printing plant and effects in the Norwich Union, and £150 on tho building in the United. Brice, Broad and Company's stables, valued at £309, were insured for £75 in the Commercial Union. There was no insurance on their large stock of manures arcUfarm produce.
