GOOD WORK BEING DONE. LADIES' CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION. Mrs. A. Anderson presided at the annual meeting of the Ladies' Christian Association yesterday. The report of the Dorcas Society, which was dealt with in yesterday's Post, was adopted. The report of the Boot Club, in which members' subscriptions aie subsidised, showed that excellent work had been done in assisting those who desired to help themselves. The work of supplying blankets on exceptionally easy terms had also been most successively carried out. The Dorcas Society, under the contvol of Mesdanie*, Annie Anderson, yon Dadelszen, and Badham, had done magnificent work during the year. Acknowledgment was made of the admirable service rendered by Miss Downes, secretary for the last three years, who had resigned. Miss Ada Lockie had, however, taken up the duties of both secretary and treasurer. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year :•— Chairman, Mr. J. G. W. Aitken,- trustees, Mr. W. Allan, Mrs. Annie Anderson, Mrs. Glasson, and the Rev. J. Paterfon ; secretary and treasurer of trustees, Mr. C. P. Powlcs ; president, Airs. Menzies ; vice-president, Mrs. Glasson; hon. secretary of society, Miss Ada Lockie ; hon. treasurer of society, Mrs. N. M'Lean ; committee, Mesdames A. Anderson, Badhitm, J. Blundell, Dawson, Duncan, Monzies, M'Lean, Muir, yon Dadelszen, Warren, W. R. Williams, (J. Smith, Miss Lockie, Miss Downes, and Dr. Edith Huntley. Mrs. W. R. Williams is a life member of the committee. The balance-sheet showed an expenditure of £144 fas on drapery, £58 on clothing, £68 on general relief, and £58 ils on boots, while subscriptions and donations amounted to £87, Government subsidy £192, Boot Club £25, Dorcas sales £42, and there was a balance from last year of £Bb. ALEXANDRA HOME. The vepori, of the Alexandra Home Committee showed that some of the inmates had conducted themselves very well ; others had been troublesome at first, but had improved. Thanks were expressed to Dr. JSwart for his cheerful services for the past 20 years. During the year 23 cases had been admitted to the home, and 25 discharged. The election of officers was as follows: — President, Miss E. Greenwood; vice-president. Miss Morrah ; secretary, Mrs. L. G. Rf d ; treasurer, Mrs. Boyd ; committee, M. sdames Tudor Atkinson, Dunning, liwart, R. W. Gibbs, Hall, F. W. Mackenzie, Salmond, Wallis, and Young; Mrs. Ashcroft and Mrs. Stock are life members. LEVIN HOME. The fifteenth annual report of the Levin Memorial Home showed satisfactory progress and the children to be in excellent health. Miss Miilgroe had been appointed to assist the matron (Miss Gifford). She had had institutional training at Home, which she used to advantage at the Levin Home. The children in the Home number 26, and their ages range from Ato 16. The four eldest aye being trained to be domestic servants. The committee thanked Dr. Kemp for liis services as honorary mpdical attendant during the absence of Dr. Harold Kemp ; also Mr. Hoby for free dental services. Treats had * been provided for the children by Messrs. Ferguson, Hills, and Webb, Miss Baber's school, and by friends of St. Thomas's Church. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year : — Patron, her Excellency Lady Plunket ; president, Miss E- Greenwood ; vice-president, Mrs. W. Fell ; committee, Mesdames Fell, Hoby, J. P. Luke, F. Rutherford, Wallis, and West Knowles, and Misses Archibald, Harding, and I. Morrah ; secretary, Miss, Young ; treasurer, Miss Morrah.
