Mr. "Wickes, the British Board of Trade representative, met the Chamber of Commerce, and urged the necessity of fostering British interests. The object of his mission to Australia, he said, was, largely, to promote exchange of the raw for the manufactured article. Mr. Wickes added that he was confident that there would be a big expansion in trade between England and Australia.
