FRENCH INCOME TAX.

M. CAILLAUX'S PROPOSALS ACCEPTED. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received March 11, 9 a.m.) PARIS, 10th March. The French Chamber of Deputies, by 407 votes to 176, accepted the income-tax proposals brought down by M. Caillaux, Minister of Finance. It is claimed for the Bill that it abolishes undemocratic privileges, reduces the small land-owners' contribution from £4,200,000 to £1,800,000, diminishes the shop-keepers' contribution by £2,000,000, and throws the extra burden upon the well-to-do.
