DWELLING DESTROYED.
[BT TELEGBAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] GISBORNE, This Day. A fire destroyed the dwelling of Mr. Ballantyne, at Mangaone. In endeavouring to salvage the contents Mrs. Ballantyne was severely scorched, her clothing catching fire. The house and contents were insured for £250 in the South British office.
The premises of Messrs. James Smith and Sons will be closed at 12 o'clock tomorrow on the occasion of the employees' annual picnic, which takes place at Mason's Gardens, Lower Hutt. The Wellington City Council in our ad vertiling columns publishes a notice, .to fruit, hawkpH.
