RIFLE CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING
THE CAMP AT TRENTHAM. A large number of competitors reached Wellington from the South Island today and yesterday. A few have gone up to Greytawn to participate in the local meeting, but tho great majority have gone into camp at Trentham, in readiness for the opening day (Thursday next). Clung, Milroy, ;md Irvine, three ex-champions, all from Nelson, are amongst the arrivals. Hyde, the pres- I ent champion, will come down fT'om the j Wairarapa to-morrow. The volunteer j and rifle club matches are set down for ! the opening day. They will include firing at short (200 yards), medium (600 yards), and long ranges (800 yards).
