NURSING THE SICK.
ST. JOHN AMBULANCE GUILD. The monthly meeting of the St. John Ambulance District Nursing Guild Com- j n ittee, held yesterday afternoon, was attended by Mrs. S. A. Rhodes (who piesided), Mrs. W. H. S. Moorhpuse, Mrs. W. B. Tripe, Mrs. J. P. Luke, Mrs. H. W. Preston, and Mrs. W. B. Fisher (hon. secretary). An apology w.is received for the unavoidable absence of Mrs. T. W. Hislop. The report submitted by the senior district nurse showed that 750 visits had been paid by Nurses Sexton and Macandrew to poor people, who were "mck and needy; eight new patients were registered in February, and there was one death; four patients were sent to the General Hospital. The committee acknowledges, with thanks, the following additional subscriptions towards the District Nursing Fund : —Mrs. S. A. Rhodes £1 Is, Mrs. H. S. Crawford (per Mrs. J. P. Luke) £2 2s, Mrs. W. B Tripe (per Nurse Sexton) £1, and Mrs. Mitford 2s 6d. Comforts, clothing, etc., have been given by Mesdames Moorhouse, Grunsler, Grey, Downhard, Atkins, Preston, Hoare, Ashcroft, Langdon, Watson, Erwin, "A Friend," and the Gear Company.
On Wednesday, 10th March, at noon, Messrs. Dalg-ety and Co. will hold an unreserved sal? of ilr. James Ferguson's .stock at Nfi Nai, Lower Hutt. Particulars ere advertised in this is«uo. At 130 o'clock to-tnorrow, Messrs. A. L. Wihon and Co. will hold n, larjfo snlo of household furniture end piano. The sale will be held in tho firm's rooms.
