The seas on the bar at Westporfc were moderating this morning, nutl the K.iituna may get away to-night for Wellington. The Defender is bar-bound to-day at Hokitika. but it is hoped to despatch her foiWellington at 5 a.m. to-morrow. . Scarlet fever is continuing to have but a modest innings in Wellington and district. The new cases for this week totalled only three. Other cases re ported to the District Health Officer are one of enteric fever and three of diphtheria for the city, and one of tuberculosis for the Hutt County.
