Later, it was found that the water main supplying Block 10 had been blown up with dynamite. APPLICATION FOR AN INJUNCTION. A RULE NISI GRANTED. SYDNEY, 14th January. Counsel for the combined Barrier miners' unions applied to-day to Mr. Justice Higgins, President of the Arbitration Court, for a rule nisi restraining the Proprietary Company from continuing the lock-out until the matter comes before the Federal Arbitration Court. His Honour was not satisfied that a case for an injunction had been made out. The Proprietary Company might, apart from the industrial dispute, be closing down for business reasons. He granted a rule nisi, returnable on 22nd January, in order to give the company a chance of showing cause for closing its works. ASSAULTING THE POLICE. A RIOTER FINED. SYDNEY, 14th January. Another Broken Hill rioter was today fined £10 for assaulting a policeman during the recent disturbances.
