MURDER MOST FOUL.

The body of a man has been found in the Namoi River, at Wee Waa, 375 miles north-west of Sydney, with the brake block of a wagon attached, and having a ghastly wound in the head. The body has been identified as that of a travelling saddler named Johnston, who, with a companion, a youth of 18, passed through Wee Waa in a two-horse wagonette at the end of last month. Subsequently Johnston's companion returned alone, sold the turnout, and then disappeared. Yesterday a man was arrested on fius» picion at Pilliga, about thirty-six miles from Wee Waa. Meantime the police visited a camp seven miles up the river, and found a quantity of Johnston's belongings and two beds or leaves, the ground under the head of one being saturated with blood. A recent fresh in the river carried" the body to the place where it was found.
