THE HIGH SCHOOL'S WORKING. FREIGHTS ON THE MANAWATU. [2T TBtEGBArH.— PRESS AS3OCIATIOK.3 PABMERSTON N., This Day. The Palmerston High School shows a credit balance on the ye.t. 's working of £65, the total credit now being ( £256. Additional expenditure totalling £225 has been incurred this year as compared with last. The Chamber of Commerce has decided to ask the Premier to put on two ixtra trains weekly to Foxton to cope with the increased traffic due to local firms ordering consignments via that port instead of Wellington, in order to Avoid the high freights on the Manawatu line. The Premier will also be asked if the Government can reduce the Manawatu freights in view of the competition of water carriage to Foxton.
