This afternoon the Arahura leaves Greymouth for Westport. She sails from the latter port at midnight to-night, and is timed to get away from Nelson at 9.30 a.m. to-morrow for Wellington, accordingly reaching here about 5.30 o'clock the same evening. THE MORAYSHIRE. Arrival of the Morayshire, from Liverpool, has been looked for during the past few days, as it was considered likely that she would arrive last week. She is 59 days en route to-day. The vessel's local representatives advise that they received word this morning intimating that the vessel called at Capetown, and left there on the 15th November for this port direct. She is very deeply laden, and consequently they consider shb is just about due now. ANOTHER LIVERPOOL LINER EN ROUTE. Word td**ihe N"ew Zealand and African Company reports that the Federal-Houlder-Shire steamer Pifeshire left Liverpool on Saturday for Commonwealth and Dominion ports. She is due at Wellington about the 31st January. THE STRANDED HAWEA. Another attempt is to be made by the Union Company to refloat the Hawea on Thursday. THE RUAPEHU, FOR LONDON. Sailing time of the New Zealand Shipping Company's k.M.S. Ruapehu is 3 p.m. on Thursday. She is proceeding to London via Monte Video, Tenerifte, and Plymouth. THE lONIC LEFT PLYMOUTH. Confirmatory advice has been received by the local agents stating that the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's R.M.S. lonic left Plymouth on Saturday for Wellington. En route she is due at Capetown on the 2nd January at Hobart on. the 21st January, jyid at Wellington about five days later. THE EAIPARA DELAYED. Bad weather at Waitara Mas delayed the Kaipara's loading operations, and consequently it will be about the beginning of next wee* before she reaches Wellington. She tf.lls at Lyttelton before coming to this port. While the s.s. Kennedy was proceeding down the harbour last night on her ivay to Nelson, her thrust shaft broke, necessitating the vessel returning to her berth. It is hoped that repairs will be effected in time for her to sail to-morrow evening. Captain Wills, of the Wakatu, is to go on holiday. Captain W. Brigden, mate of the Queen Of the South, will be relieving master.
