METHODIST SYNOD.
« This evening the Wellington Methodist Synod will devote the time to consideration of t-he finances of the church. At the meeting yesterday the following ministers responded to the roll call: — Revs. W. J Williams (chairman, of the district), H B. Redstone, J. N. Buttle, W. Tinsley, J. J. Pcndray, N. Tinsley, C. Griffin, T. F. Jones, B. H. Ginger, VC. Eaton, S- J. Garlick, B. H. Rothwell, A. C. Lawry, W. J. Elliott, G. Frost, R. Wilson, T. T. I'homas, 8.A., E. P. Blamiras, A. B. Chappell, M.A., C. Porter, J. R. Clark, W. 11. Speer, C. Roberts, W. W. Avery, and Mr. Oliver, home missionary, Norsewood. It was resolved to send a kindly letter to Rev. W. Kirk, who was unable to attend the synod on account of illhealth. Rev. T. F. Jones (Lev'u) was elected secretary; Rev. A. B. Chappell and C. Porter, reporters ; Rei C. Eaton, journal secretary. The following probationers -were unanimously recommended to pass in their years: — Rcws. C, Roberts, W. W. Avery, and W. H. Speer. Rev. S. J. Garlick was placed on the supernumerary list to the expressed regiet of Synod, reference being made to the reverend gentleman's wholehearted service for the cEurca.
