NEW ZEALAND EXPORTS.
MONTHLY RETURNS. The returns of exports from, the Doftrinion for the month of November, as collected by the Industries Department from the Customs figures, show that while there have been satisfactory increases in some staples, there has been a falling-off in others, when tho past month is compared with November, 1907. For example, the butter exported in November last was valued at £210,959, while that «snt away a year ago was valued at £162,211. Cheese exports were worth £83,218, as against £55,137 for November, 1907. Frozen beef was £2000 more, and the mutton exports were £3000 less for November, 1908. Lamb represented .£2752 in November, 1908, and £1921 for the corresponding month of last year. Tho value of oats, on the other hand, amounted to £14,363, while for November, 1907, only £22 worth were sent away. Hemp was 1274 tons for November, 1908, valued at £28,153, whereas whilo 1311 tons was exported for the same month of 1907. the value was £34,738, an indication of the fall in values. Tow stands at 369 tons for last month, with a value of £2071, and 212 tons for ■ November, 1907, valued at £1883. Grain and pulse other than wheat and oats increased in value by some £4000. Hops dropped in November, 4908, from £803 to £1214 for the like'month of 1907. Hides* skins, and tallow show declines m quantities and valuos of £3000, £1500, and £6000 respectively. Timber exports are better by over £10,000 for only 1,600,000 feet more than the corresponding month of 1907. Wool in November last was exported to the value of £141,612, or a decrease of £257,743 over the total shioped in November of 1907.
