to Tnß editor. Sir, — With reference to those parts of your leading article of yesterday's issue, it appears to me that you know a gieat deal more about my arrangements than I do myself. I know that there has been no arrangement between Independent Labour and either the Government Party or Opposition Party, and that I am not in the least compromised by the support which I received from any quarter. With respect to Mr. Atkinson's talk about "pulling wires," "deals," and "underground agencies," I can assure that gentleman that he may best leave such master alone. I am quite able, on behalf of the Labour Party, to look after my own independence. — I am, etc.," D. M'LAREN. Wellington, 26th Novembei.
