WONDERLAND.
There was a fairly large attendance at Wonderland last night to witnes» Professor DriscolPs Blondin act. Ho crossed the lake twice on a single wiro at an elevation of (forty feet above th« water. The trapeze act wa& also much appreciated. The management states that the Blondin act will be repeated on Saturday afternoon and again in th 9 evening. A smoke concert waa held by tha members of St. Anne's Catholic Club last night. A number of toasts wer« honoured, and musical and other items were contributed by Messrs. E. Reade, C. Webb, E. Foote, J. M'Govern, Morw iarty, and E. J. Fitzgibbon. A social gathering of the Wellington Highland Rifles was held in the Bucklestreet drillshed last night. Captain M'Diarmid presided. Amongst the visitors were Major Mackintosh, of tho Wellington Rifle Battalion, and L^eut. Logan, of the 7th London City Rifles. Songs and recitations by various mem* bers of the company helped to pass away a pleasant time. During the proceedings Chaplain-Major Shirer was presented with a plaid of clergy tartan, and a shoulder brooch. A "social" in connection with the St. Augustine's Lad's room will be held in the schoolroom to-morrow evening.
