THE GRAND JUNCTION. fßir Tblegbaph. — Special to The Post.] WAIHI, This Day. As reported yesterday, driving operations on the quartz body intersected in the south-east crosscut from No. 4 level again disclosed - ore after passing through a band of mullock and stringers intermixed. The quartz showing in the face is the best looking so far met with in the crosscut, and can be classed as high grade. Several feet of ore has been exposed, but so far the assay values have only been given for the fii'st two feet, the official report being as follows : — No. 4 level, south-east crosscut — Have struck a of quartz. First! 18in, value lls 6d per ton ; next 6in, value £13 10s per ton. So far, no footwall. The assay given shows a value of £7 0s 9d per ton for the 2ft, the first portion of which was largely caloite, followed by the mineralised ore carrying the values. Further official high information was expected to be available to-day.
