Sailing boat races in the harbour on. j Saturday afternoon had to be postponed ! on account of the strong wind that was I blowing. The rowing race between the port and starboard watches of the training ship Amokura was also, put off. i Despite all this interference by • the elements motor boats held a -competition under the auspices of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club. The following ventured forth: — Britannia, scratch; Tani- J wha, 9min ; Puriri, llmin ; Swan, 24 mm; and Tender, 39min. A course was, mapped out from the Glasgow wharf to Halswell *buoy, thence to Korokoro j and back the same way to the starting point.
