TUESDAY'S BOXING MATCHES.
GOOD CONTESTS ANTICIPATED. Both principals in the professional boxing contest to be decided at the Opera House to-morrow \ night, under auspices of the Wellington Boxing Association, are reported to be in excellent fettle, and a, really good contest is anticipated. Gosling's party feels confident of victory, but Elliott's supporters profess a like feeling. Elliott came i back to Wellington yesterday from Blenheim, whither he went to act as referee in the Marlborough Amateur Association's tournament. The eight amateurs who are to box the "curtain raiser" bouts may all be relied upon to give interesting exhibitions. The main ! contest will be started at 9.15 p.m. Arrangements have been made to notify (ivom the stags the result* of all tha second ballots as they come to hand from local and other centres.
