will be observed as a close holiday by the Postal Department in all its branches. Country mails will close at the usual time by the earljyr morning trains only. Mails by steamers sailing during tho day will close at 7.30 a.m. Uo-night a delivery by letter-carriers over the public counter, Chief Post Office, from 8.30 to 0.30 o'clock, will be made. The next best despatch for United Kingdom and Continent of Europe will be via Naples, closing at Wellington, per Warrimoo, on Friday, 13h ins>t., at 2 p.m. J. A. HUTTON. Chief Postmaster
