The following are the latest quotations for Government securities, with a comparison of those ruling last week: —

IHE MONEY MARKET. The Bank of England discount rate is 2£ per cent., to which it was reduced on <i9th May. Three mouths' bills in London are 1-16 higher, at 2 1-16 per cent. ; in Paris, 2| in Berlin 2|. Short .loans aro i higher at li per cent. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Wheat. — Tho markets are firm and I prices show an advance of 6d per quar-" J ter on last week's rates. Further re- [ ports regarding damago to tho Argentina crop have had a stiffening effect on speculations and prices are being fully maintained. Cargoes on the water aro firmly hold, whilo 38s 5d per quartor is bid for steamer cargoes now loading. Quotations for Australian on the spot are unchanged since last week, at 40s 6d to 41s. Sales during the week included 9500 quarters November shipment, at 37s 3d; and two Australian parcels of 13,000 quarters each January-i''ebruary_ shipment at 36s 6d. The American visiblo supply, east of the Rockies, is 72,676,000 quarters. Flour. — Tho market is quiet. Australian patent brands are quoted at 2bs 6d and 26s 6d per sack in London, whilo 28s is asked in Glasgow for OctoberNovember shipment. Buttor. — Market dull. Danish is quoted at 127s to 128s por cwt., a fall of 3s sinco last week. There is less demand for colonial sort 3, owing to the retailers raising the price tb Is Id por lb, thus caiising consumers to buy shilling mixtuies. Quotations aro nominally unchanged at 118s to 122s per owt for unsalted, though thero is an easier tendency. Sugar. — The market is steady. German beet, Id higher, at 10s Id per cwt ; first marks, granulated, 2d higher, at lls lid* f.o.b. Hamburg. Wool. — Tho Bradford tops market is unchanged, but a botter tone prevails, though thore is little actual business doing. PRICES OF METALS. Copper. — On the spot, 25s Higher, at £62 17s 6d; three months, 25s higher, at £63 15s por ton.Tin.— On the spot, 60s higher, at £137; threo months, 55s higher, at £138 7s 6d per ton. Lovin and Co., Dalgety and Co., Murray, Roberts and Co., Abraham and j Williams, and tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency held thoir fortnightly sale o£ bides, skins, and tallow yesterday. Prices wore about on a par with those of tho last sale. QUOTATIONS. Skins.— Fino crossbreds, 5d to 6£d; crossbred, 4d to s|d ; dead skins, 2"d to 4d ; dead hoggets, 2d to 3£d; dry pelts, Id to 3td: green skins, 2s 6d to ss; lamb skins 6d to Is each. Tallow. — Parcels in shipping order, £23 10s: tins, £18 to £21 10s; rough fat, £10 to £14. Horsehair.— ls to Is 3d per lb. Horns, 5s to 17s 6d per hundred. Cowtail's, Is 3d to Is 6d per dozen.
