£20.000 COMPENSATION AWARDED.

ONE OF THE CHRISTCHURCH CASES [BT TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. In the Compensation Court to-day Mr. Justice Denniston gave judgment in the Custom House site case. The Government offered £16,000 for the property, and the owners claimed £26,358. The hearing lasted two days. His Honour has awarded £20,000, with £880 added- as interest on the sum awarded at 5 per cent, from the day of taking up the case. The branch post office site is now being heard.
