AN AUCKLAND ACCIDENT.

AUCKLAND, sfch November. A married v rian rnmed William Kent, who was engaged m the unloading of kapoc from the s.s. Squall, had his right leg broken rather simply to-day. Kent was standing on one bale and handling another when he slipped and fell on to the wharf. The distance of the fall was only three feet, but the man's right leg was broken below the knee. A deplorable incident is reported in connection with the accident. A police officer, it is stated, requested an officer of a vessel lying at the wharf to ask the ship's if i c would attend to the man. The officer went below and presently returned and said that the doctor had said that he did not think that he could come. The man's injury was bandaged up by Constable Armstrong, who then sent the sufferer to the hospital.
