LABOUR AND NO-LICENSE.
DUNEDIN, sth November. The Otago Trades and Labour Council has received' returns from affiliated unions in regard to the voting on the resolution of the Trades Ounfei-enee regarding No-license. Replies were received from 19 unions. Five unions with a membership of 649 decided in favour of the resolution, and five with a membership of 433 against it. Nine unions with a membersn'p of 628 took no action further than expressing the opinion that the ballot box was the proper place to settle the question. Twelve unions did not reply. Confirmation of iho resolution by the council was subject to a majority of affiliated unions favouring it, and therefore the council crnnot adopt it.
