ALLEGED CATTLE-STEALING.
fßy Tele&baph. — Special to The Post.] MASTERTON, This Day. •A young man named Frank Carr appeared before the court this morning, charged with having received thirty-eight head of cattle, knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained. It is alleged that the cattle were stolen from the properties of J. Garrett, J. iM'Rae, and R. F. Beetham, by one Gilbert Langdon, and that they were trucked through to Pahiatua and sold there through an auctioneering firm. Langdon is to appear at Dannevirke to-day on a charge of horse-stealing. On the application of the police, Carr was remanded until the 10th inst. A youth named Jackson was also charged with aiding and abetting in having assisted to truck tne cattle, and was also remanded. Bail was allowed both accused.
