SWIMMING. ANNUAL MEETING OF WELLINGTON CENTRE.
, The eighth annual meeting of the Wellington Centre of the-New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held on Friday. Mr. T. Ronayne presided over a good attendance of delegates. The following officers were eiected :—President, Mr. T. Ronayne; vice-president, Dr. Chappie , chairman, Mr. A. L. Ludwig; hon. secretary, Mr. A. M. Adams ; hon. treasurer, Mr. J. Stephens ; consul, Mr. T. Shields ; handicapper, Mr. -W. B. Smith ; polo referee, Mr. G. Ludd ; auditor, Mr. E. J. Flemming; delegate to council, Mr. A. Donaldson ; vice-pre-sident to council, Mr. T. Ronayne. It was decided to open the season on the 20th November at the Thorndon Baths with two races — one for seniors and one for juniors. . •
The pontoon owned by the Morse Dry Dock and Repair Company of New York, can, according to Fairplay, accommodate vessels up to 535 feet in length, 80 feet in beam, and 28 feet draft, being the largest dry dock accommodation in New York outside the Naval Dockyard.
