QUOTATION OF NEW COMPANIES. [BY TELEGRAPH. — FItESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. At a meeting of the Slock Exchanga this morning, Mr. 11. M. Shepherd raised the question of new mining companies being placed on the list for quotation. Ho said there were twenty or thirty companies that had done no good, and should be struck off the list. Tha chairman (Mr. ButtJe) said that the Exchange having quoted so many new companies in the past, it would be unfair to refuse to quote others because their applications were made later. Mr. Shepherd said he desired to disabuse the public idea that the Exchange was responsible for floating these companies. The public should know th'it they were simply brokers, and took no responsibility whatever as to the prospects of the properties placed upon the list-.
