ARBITRATION COURT. BREACHES OF AWARDS.
fjß7 TKKGBAH*. — PBBSS ASSOCIATION.! PALMERSTON N., 25th September. The Arbitration Court sat in Palmeiston this morning, Mr. Justice Sim Residing with Messrs. M'Cullough and S. Brown. Cases involving breaches of awards were taken first. H. Gosling, for failure to pay the wages under the butchers' award, three breaches, was fined £5 and costs, while an employee for accepting less wages than the award allowed had a breach recorded against him. G. Townsend, for five breaches ot the butchers' award in not paying proper wages, was fined £10 and costs. Four employees were each fined £1 for accepting lower wages than the award fixed. The Horowhenua Meat Company, for declining to pay tho award wage, was fined £b and the respondent was ordered to pay court coats. J. Follett, for a breach of the bakers' award, was fined £1 and ordered to pay cuurt costs, while the employee had a breach recorded against him. * J. Hunter, for failing to indenture an. apprentice under the painters' award, was fined £5 and costs. 0. Stnad, for a breach of the carpenters' award in not paying full wages, was fined £1 and costs. The employee was lined 10s and costs. J. Whittaker, for not paying full award wages to a carpenter, was fined JUI and cost*.
