HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

>^ The Wellington Hospital Trustees met yesterday. The Hon. C. M. Luke presided, and the other trustees present were Messrs. G. Nash, J. Danks, W. H. Hales, R. C. Kirk, J. W. M'Ewan, F. G. Bolton, G. London. On the recommendation of the House Committee, it was resolved that Nurse Lind be granted two weeks' leave of absence ; that the band rotunda be opened on Sunday, the 271h inst., jhe Mission Band to be invited .to glvh the opening performance; that the house steward's salary be increased to £200 per annum; ond that, tenders be called for the indent of crockery, c.i.F. The returns of patients "in the horpital ! showed a total of 262, wliich is five in ore than in the corresponding period of last j year. A report submitted by lite Finance Committee mentioned that accounts amounting to £51209 7s 6d weye due. The monthly accounts were normal, but there v.ere some inrge, nonrecurrent accounts to be met. They are as follows : — Re-reticulation of hot-water service, £138 2s lOd; part of band rotunda contract, £161 ; yearly accident insurance premium, £32 16s 3d; outstanding accounts, for flour used at the mental hospital, £43 10s 6d ; five garden seats, £19 10s ; legal expenses account, £15 18s 2d; total, £410 17s 9d. All the accounts were passed for payment. A bonus of £5 was voted lo the assistant dispenser at the hospital,- on account of special services rendered during th,e absence of the dispenser. Mr. M"Ewaa questioned if the lad. whose age is 18, was sufficiently remunerated, at £1 per w^ek, when he could carry out dispensing duties. It was decided that another opportunity would be taken v to discuss the point. A comparison of receipts showed that* out-patients' fees for the fortnight to 21st September amounted to £13 16s, by comparison with £15 9s received in the corresponding period o{ last year, and a total of £26 8s in the fortnight ended 7th September last. For /inpatients, the corresponding figures were respectively £106 15s Bd, £105 7s, and £163 12s 2d. In answer to Mr. London, the secretary explained that the total of £163 12s 2d was an abnormal amount, and that the total of £106 15s 8d received during the last two weeks was an average amount. -_t_____t_____^_t__t__: r
