ANNUAL SPORTS.
— * The annual cricket match, sports meeting, nnd tennis match, -Tax, Valuation, and ' Advances v. Government Railways Departments were played at Day's Bay yesterday. Over 800 Journeyed across in iha ferry boats. The senior cricket match resulted in a win for the Tax Department representatives, who made 164 — M'Lennan 33, Miller 46 not out, Skelley 22, and- Leys 11. against 71 by the Railers — Porteoug 16, Chavlton 14, and Wilson 11. Nask seven for 102, bowled best for the Railways ; Miller two for 12, Hutchon three for 17, Platts one for seven, and Adams one for two were the most successful bowlers for the Tax. The Railway men won the junior cricket match, scoring 87— K^yan 16, Miller 16, and Jones 12 — ftgainsj> their opjopnen.ts' o4— Hill 1,4, Millar five, for 16' da d. M 'Govern five for 16 did good work with the ball for Railways, and Paul one for five, Eaves three for 12, Newbojd two for 18, Hill four for 24, bowled best for the Tax. Relay ' Race. — Advances team (Falconer, ' Dixon, Clarke, and Robertson) 1. 50 Yards Swimming.— Alpo (Railways) 1, M'Ahster (Railways) •2, and Ronayne (J, The bowling bontest was played on Thorndon ' green, and resulted in a win for the .Tax team (Fowler and Nancariw). ,
