CARTER, THE ILLUSIONIST. Tho mysterious, but enjoyable entertainment provided by Carter, the conjuror nnd illusionist, continues to attract largo audiences to the Opera House. In addition to his ability in 6leight of hand feats, Mr. Carter quite out-distances the Davenport. Bros, in the cabinet trick. What was formerly regarded with awe, becomes in Mr. Carter's hands a. clever and amusing exhibition of hkill and illusion. Thoro was a matinee this afternoon. The entertainment will bo repeated to-night. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Tho "long-felt want" that has affect-> ed so many communities is evidently being filled in Wellington by the Royal Pictures, which are now in the second month of their continuous showing at His Majesty's Theatro. A complete change of films will be mado this evening, and tho third Limerick competition will be held. THEATRE ROYAL. Fuller's Vaudeville Company upholds the reputation for variety that has. attached to the Theatre Royal for some time, and the numerical strength of the audiences that now assemble nightly has certainly never been excelled. ' CLARA BUTT-RUMFORD FAREWELL CONCERTS. ■ Madame Clari Butt, Mr. Kennerley Rumford, and the members of their con cert party will return to Wellington this evening after having visited Nelson and Blenheim. Tait announce this evening that the box Elans for tho two farewell concerts to c given by Madame Butt at tho Town Hall, on tho 3rd and sth March, will bo opened at the Dresden on Tuesday morning next. • Tho contralto will leave /for Palmerston North by the early train on Monday, she will sing there that evening, and will then visit Napier and Wanganui, and will finally return here on Saturday next.
