An explosion at the Glelx? collieiy, in the village of Washington, killed fourteen out of fiitcen poisons in the mine at the time. Grant damage vraa done to the mine, th-erc b^ing many falls in the workings. The explosion occurred in tho night. There are usually five hundred pel sons j employed in the duy-time. DYNAMITE EXPLODES. TWENTY-EIGHT LIVES LOST. j SAN FRANCISCO, 21st February. ■ Ten tons of dynamite exploded in a, j building belonging to the Hercules powder works, Berkeley, California, killing four whites and twenty-four Chinamen.
