APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS. STRONG DISSATISFACTION.
[BY TELEGI'.APIT. — PHESS ASSOCIATION.] INVERCARGILL, This Day. Strong dissatisfaction has been expressed at the action of the school committee and board in appointing a teacher holding a lower certificate, and with less experience than other applicants, to the first-assistantthip in the South school. A deputation of teachers waited on the board to protest. The board decided to to enquire into the practice of other boards. The deputation also requested Mr. J. A. Hanan, M.P. , to lay the matter before the Minister, with a view to securing a national scheme in making ap- 1 pointments.
