Lischleiv J n referring; to the statements made by employers and factory managers, said he thought, there had been a good fleal of exaggeration. The pressing demand only existed during the busy months preceding Christmas, and he was of the opinion that if factory hands were imported from England a3 had Ueen suggested they would bo' walking the streets for nine months out of t!.o twelve Mi. Aggers also spoke against the proposal to obtain Government assistance in importing labour, and it was resolved to make a strong protest against any such action.
