ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Mr. Bush, manager of tfye Kauri Timber Company, while inspecting bush in the Kapowai district., Coromandel, yesterday, found tho body of a middleaged man in an unussd shanty. The man, whose body is yet unidentified, has been dead about two months. AUCKLAND, 6th February. A carpenter named Wm. Petty, employed m connection with the alterations being carried out at the Queenstreet wharf, sustained serious injury while engaged in dismantling the "6" shed this afternoon. Petty lost his balance while levering a piece of timber, and fell a' distance of ten feet on to an iron spike in a plank. Tho iron entered his back for nearly two inches. He was admitted to the hospital. NEW PLYMOUTH, '6th Feb. A Maori man, Avhose name is unknown, was killed near Okato yesterday. Ho fell from a horse, and was dragged along »tha road, his fcot being caught in the stirrup. His skull was fractured.-
