WEDNESDAY COMPETITION.
The second round of senior matches in the Wednesday competition avrs concluded yesterday afternoon. George and George claimed a A\iu by default from Oriental, who only had five men available, and declined to go into lhc field. Tho only other match [o be played AA-as Oriental v. Union, Avhich proved to be rather one-sided, as far as tho first innings Avas concerned, Orientals getting t-i lead of 112 runs. Union, lioavovor, did much better in the second innings, scoring 255 iot four Avickets, of Avhich Weybourno aams credited Avith 103 not out, and O'Sullivan 78. JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. Artillery A defoated Pakeha by 160 runs. Pakoha made 94 and 24 (M'EldoAvney 48). Artillery scored 118 and 160 (Joyce 19 and 38, Bi-oavii 28 and 20, Thompson 25 not out, Hunter 27). Hume took tAvo Avickets for 3, Joyco tAvo for 1, and M'Mahon three for 6. V.M.C.A. defeated Union by an innings and 97 runs. Bowling for' V.M.C.A., Holmes took six wickets for 21 runs. Artillory B defeated Oriental by eight Avickets. Oriental scored 138 and 22 (Mullins 19 and 24), Luk3 44, and Dobson 29), and Artillery 103 and 60 for two wickets (Sawle 25 and 20, Mauley 22, Ready 17 and 15). Bowling for Artillery, Cooper took four Avickets for 4, Mnulcy five for 42, and Klee three fov 18.
