The Petone Borough Council met last evening, vhen there v:cvo pres?nt the Mtiyor (Mr J W. M'Ewan) and Louncillorfa SLort. Nicholson, Loddor, South ga*e, Castle and Colquhoiui. Several communications vvere received irom Dr Fiengley, Diptnct Health Officer. In them he stated that iv compliance with the council's request he had, accompanied by Mr. Gough. S&tutary inspector, visited and inspected several eld and dilapidated dwellings. In some instances he recommended that certiin necessary repairs bo effected ; h others, tlidt the buildings be condemned. £lt encloseJ the required certificate of condemnation. The report of S?nior-Constable Cox boing satisfactory, X. Bid's application (or Lhc renewal for a further period of twelve months of the license of his billiard suloon in Pclone-avenue was, granted.
