The 'Frisco liner Foreric, which left the Californian port on the lfcth inst. for Auckland and Sydney, ha 3 a full aaj?o. Punctual to her d^xe date of arrival, tho New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Orari arrived at Port/ Chalmers on Thunsday morniug The Orar. left London, on the. sth December, tho first ebag-e of tho voyage being marked by unpleasant, and heavy S.W. gales wero met with between Ushaut and Finietere. After ttyat the weather improved, nnd (reports the Otago Diuly Times) continued fine until after passuig iie Cape, on New Year's Eve. When in the meridian of 57 B. long, a heavy gale set in from the S.W. and W., accompa7iied with hea.vy rain and terrific cross eeas, lasting for three days, during which the barometer reached tJie low reading of 28.60. Fine weather then, cmaued, and a comfortable temperature marked the passage until crossing the Tasman. Sea, when heavy rain and high seas ect in, ahd comtimied' until arrival oft the heads. , The Orari brings 4648 tons of cargo for Dunedin, 2023 -tons for Bluff, and 838 tons for Lyttelton. Captain Forsdick has the following ofllcers associated with hin*: — Messrs. C» W., Clement, chief ; F. W. Bevis, second ; John Cairns, third ; W. Point, fourth ; amd P. "Backhouse, fifth. Dr. H. The three-masted barque Lsira, which arrived at Port Chalmers on ' Friday from Port Esperance, Tasmania, made jthe passage across tho Taemin Sea in eight days. Captain Rogers reports the voyage as devoid of incident. The barque haa 250,000 ft of eawn timber to discharge- at the southern port. The ndw Tyscr steamer Nerehana, which is due at W«llington about the 12th pros., from London, via Australian ports nnd Auckland, has about 900 tone of cargo to put out at this port.
